Ladakh Expedition
Deep in the heart of Ladakh, the Tsarap Chu and Zanskar rivers carve their way through a remote region. They give a unique access to one of the most impressive gorges in the world, and a fascinating culture which has largely been untouched by the modern world.
The Zanskar and Ladakh mountain ranges are at the far western edge of the greater Himalayan range, in the North West region of India. With Indian Hinduism to the south, the Muslim cultures in Kashmir and Pakistan to the south and west, and the Buddhism of Tibet to the North, Ladakh is the hub of many cultural intersections. Ladakh offers a great insight into an ancient culture, which has most in common with old Tibet, but has not suffered the devastation of the Chinese occupation.
