Our team had met up in the holy city of Lhasa, towards the end of September 2006. We were the first group of kayakers to enter Tibet at this time of year. Our plan was to explore the tributary rivers flowing into the legendary 'Great Bend' of the Yarlung Tsangpo in the eastern Kham province of Tibet.
